In California, over one million individuals don’t have access to safe drinking water. “The Flow of Justice” is a documentary highlighting this stark reality. This film shares the lived experiences of members from communities such as East Orosi and Alpaugh, who continuously fight for water in a state where it is considered a human right.
“The Flow of Justice” illustrates how affected individuals advocate to change the reality of water justice in California. Community members organize under the Community Water Center, created to meet immediate needs and amplify the voices of those who struggle for clean water. This film also honors the legacy of two of the organization’s late activists, Sandra Meraz and Jesus Quevedo.
This documentary is a project created during the summer of 2024, by eight students at Fresno State directed by Professor Samuel Contreras.
